This is the page where the Dorothy Dunnett Society lists help requests. If you are a member of the Dorothy Dunnett Society and think that you maybe able to help us out, here is a list of things we need help with. This normally involves organising a couple of events a year - one around International Dorothy Dunnett Day, and one at another time (feel free to organise more!).	N	We are lacking local group organisers in most places in the UK, and in the US. A local group can be as small as 1 person: if we identify you as leader for your area, then if anyone else joins from that area, we'll put you in touch with each other.
5	Dunnett Wiki Chapter Contributor	2020-10-24	People to contribute to documentation of Dunnett Chapters on the Dunnett Wiki, to build up an index of the contents of each Chapter in the historical novels of Dorothy Dunnett	N	Multiple People. Some basic IT skills are required. Zoom workshops will be held. Contact Christiane Schreiter via Simon Hedges.
13	Admin Support to Dunnett Weekend 2025	2023-05-13	Admin work relating to bookings for the 2027 Dunnett Weekend	N	Basic knowledge of record keeping, using email, using spreadsheets is required. Ability to undertake configuration of online booking system (training will be given) would be advantage. These roles can be split among different people. Contact julia.hart@ddsoc.org for more information or to offer to help.
14	Admin Support for Late WGs	2023-05-13	Following up with people who report that their copies of WG are later in arriving than the latest target date, and co-ordinating the sending out of replacements where necessary.	N	Contact simon.hedges@ddsoc.org for more information or to offer to help.
15	Maintain DDS Announcement Email List	2023-05-29	Once a quarter, add new members to our new Dunnett Announcement List, and remove former members from that list	N	The list of relevant names and emails will be provided by Simon Hedges.

100	Co-ordinator for International Dorothy Dunnett Day	2022-10-01	Tina Dallas has held this post for some time and now steps down with our great thanks. To replace her we are looking for somone who will enjoy putting people in touch with each other across the continents.	N	There is also an article by Tina on her experience of this role in the Autumn 2022 edition of Whispering Gallery. Position filled by Lily Meyer in April 2023.
102	Dunnett Wiki Co-ordinator	2020-10-01	Person to co-ordinate/lead on the progression of this wiki, in particular the completion of the Dunnett Chapter Project, and the Documentation of WG issues. This involve allocating work to other volunteers, advising on consistency and coherency across the wiki. Simon Hedges can advise you as he previously held this role	N	Fill. 104	Merchandise Storers	2022-09-30	We need more members to store merchandise for the shop, in the Cambridgeshire/Bedfordshire area. Jenna Hegarty is in charge as the Merchandise Officer. She would collect stock as needed.	Y	This need has now been met.
106	Dorothy Dunnett Centenary Gathering & Conference 20-28 April 2023.	2022-10-4	This ambitious project needs more helpers to join the current team. Many different roles range from acting as a Centenary Buddy, to hosting speakers at the conference.	N	More helpers came forward and contributed massively to making the Centenary Gathering a huge success - thanks to all of you.
107	Board Member	2021-01-28	Members to consider joining the Board of the DDS	No but..	Board members are expected to attend Board meetings. During lockdown these are held remotely, but once lockdown is over, Board members will be expected to meet physically. There is no legal reason why a Board member can't be from overseas, but expenses are paid from any point in the UK, so any overseas members would need to fund their travel to the UK. Note that Jill Harrison has been co-opted in April 2023, and Lisa Hopkins has offered to be a member from October 2023.
108	Centenary Website (leading position filled by Lily Meyer)	2021-01-28	People to design, implement and populate a website for the Dorothy Dunnett Centenary. Main point of liaison will be Deborah Conway Read	N	The Website now exists and is populated.
109	Help Co-ordination Officer (position filled)	2021-01-28	Someone to co-ordinate volunteer efforts	N	This will involve liaising with volunteers and reporting to the Board and Officers on progress. Position filled in Feb 2021 by Stephen Hart.
110	Final Round Short Story Judge (position filled)	2021-02-05	DDS/Historical Writers' Association Final Round Judge	N	Involves reading and judging short stories that reach the final round. The process is led by Betty Moxon. Vacancy filled in Feb 2021.
111	Short Story Judge	2021-02-05	Reading and judging short stories entered in the Short Story Competition.	N	The process is led by Betty Moxon.
112	Magazine Indexer	2021-03-09	Documentation of Whispering Gallery and Marzipan and Kisses issues on the Dunnett Wiki.	N	Multiple People. Some basic IT skills are required. Filled by various people. Other volunteers still wanted.
