Abstract
[edit | edit source]- The author discusses how she created the work with technical parameters required for the book. She decided early on it would be an illuminated quotation and discovered the medieval Books of Hours, produced in Paris between 1425-1430. The roundels, such as the guitars and ships, were used to bind Niccolò and Francis together. For another roundel, she chose Istanbul as one of the few places Francis, Niccolò, Philippa and Kathi all had in common. The quote is from Disorderly Knights.
