Missing Princes Project and HRH

Overview and Issue
[edit | edit source]- An overview of the talk given by Philippa Langley at the Dunnett Weekend, 2017
- WG135
Abstract
[edit | edit source]- The author summarises Ms Langley's new project which is to clear Richard III's name by questioning widely held beliefs and applying forensic analysis to investigate means, motive and opportunity in relation to the death of the two Princes in the tower. She described it as a cold case history investigation – not an academic study but using intelligence gathering. Senior policemen are working with her on the case, one of whom described it as not so much as cold but rather frozen! The HRH in the title stands for Hindsight. The author claims that the most likely scenario was that both Princes survived and if they did not, Richard III was not held accountable by his contemporaries. She notes that there are 75 continuing lines of enquiry currently being pursued. The author also requested that those at her talk be vigilant for any contemporary records covering the period 1483-86 and to forward information to her at https://tinyurl.com/WG135-1.
