• Lists of historical characters featured in book should only be included as linked pages (addition of square brackets) if character is
• Signficant and heavily fictionalised by the author eg. Richard Chancellor, Anselm Adornes, Margaret Douglas
• Minor historical figure that interacts with main character (Lymond / Nicholas) through the book or series (not just one scene) eg. Tom Erskine
• Historical characters that are portrayed as relatives of fictional characters, eg Berecrofts
• Inclusion of characters where there is little information or sources about the person beyond Dunnett books eg. Robin Stewart, Will Scott - AND they are major or influential figure in the books.

• For all other characters – don’t use square brackets but consider linking to external website, such as Wikipedia, Encyclopedia Britannica
