Overview and Issue
[edit | edit source]- Article on a new reader's response who started reading the LC with PIF.
- WG116
Abstract
[edit | edit source]- The author started reading with PIF because he was very familiar with Istanbul. He admits he is not a frequent reader of historical fiction. He was particularly drawn to the range and delineation of the secondary characters and the theatrical set pieces such as the sea battle, the ambassadorial visit and the chess game. Is Francis a new Odysseus? Will he read the whole series? Perhaps.
