==Abstract== "The idea of keeping a diary of my first reading of The Lymond Chronicles came about during a chance conversation with another Dorothy Dunnett reader β Jenny β at an IDDD meeting in London. It was explained to me that many people hold very strong memories and feelings about their first reading of the Lymond books and that many people enjoy them so much that they read them many times, meaning that the first impressions fade. Age and experience colour subsequent readings and although the books remain firm favourites for many Dorothy Dunnett fans, there is nothing that quite matches the first, gradual, reveal as the plot twists and turns towards its conclusion." (Emma Croker)
