==The Article Page== Upon completing the creation of the Issue Page, the next step is to index each article. Just as there is a Issue page template, there is a specific Article page template found on the wiki to be used at all times. Note that template has gone through some modification and updates to more accurately reflect the intent of the section. Always be sure to use the most current template. https://dunnettcentral.org/wiki/index.php/000_Article_Template. As we can, indexers are reviewing earlier articles to confirm the most current section heading. ===Creating the Article Page=== From the Issue page, click on the article to create the Article Page. Refer to the link above and copy and paste the Article template into the Article Page. SAVE. The first section of the Article template gives a very brief statement on the subject of the article. The issue number should be entered within the square brackets to create the link to the issue. ==Overview and Issue== * Article on * WG152 These examples are from Images and Character of Cardinal Bessarion, WG152. ==Overview and Issues== * A review on the life of Cardinal Bessarion. * WG152 The abstract is a very high level overview of the article, and the objective is to provide enough information to prompt a user of the wiki to read the full article. It is not the intent here to provide an in-depth summary; however, the indexer may consider information on resources and bibliography and cross-reference topics of interest for the user to further research. Th *==Abstract== * Born in Trebizond, 1402. He entered the order of St Basil in 1425 and became Cardinal in 1439. Bessarion was committed to the promotion of humanism and learning. His beliefs were founded on Platonic Philosophy. He saw his main mission to unite the Western and Eastern churches. This was made impossible with the fall of Constantinople in 1453. He was the Supervisor of the papal alum mines in Tolfa and died at Ravenna in November 1472. ===Author=== * Author's name ===Dunnett Book Citations=== * Use the book initials as per those used in the Chapter Project and include the section and chapter number. It is important to put the square brackets around the chapter information as it will link to the specific chapter. For more information on the Chapter Project return to the Main Page or click on this link: https://dunnettcentral.org/wiki/index.php/Dunnett_Chapter_Project ==References== * WG151 Pt 1 - QP 2.2, QP 3.1, QP 4.3, QP 4.4, QP 4.5, QP 4.6 * WG152 Pt 2 - GOK 1.5.1, QP 1.4, QP 1.5, QP 1.6, QP 2.1,QP 3.1 * Older WG and MK issues may not have the full chapter citation but only the book reference. In such cases, the use of just the book initials is acceptable. ===Historical Characters=== Refer to the separate wiki guideline "Historical Character Notes" (https://dunnettcentral.org/wiki/index.php/Historical_Character_Notes) for the list of the recommended names of historical personages that should have a linked page within the wiki. Remember, in order to create the link, the historical character name requires square brackets . The guideline will provide information on how to treat minor historical figures or inclusion of characters where there is little information of sources available. If a historical figure is not linked within the wiki site, consider linking them to an external website, such as Wikipedia or Encyclopedia Britannica. * In this example from WG151, More Pollock than Mondrian, two central historical characters have square brackets indicating their significance to the story--Thorfinn and Sulien--and these two characters will have a Dunnett wiki page created for them. The historical figure of Constantine the Great is not bracketed; instead a link is provided to a wikipedia article on him. In order to create the wikipedia link, use the syntax as shown under the Edit function. ==Historical Characters== * Thorfinn * Sulien Pt 2, WG151 * Constantine the Great Pt 2, WG151 ===Fictional Characters=== Refer to the separate guideline “Fictional Character Notes” https://dunnettcentral.org/wiki/index.php/Fictional_Character_Notes for the list of fictional characters that should have a linked page within the wiki. Remember, in order to create the link, the fictional character name requires square brackets . Be aware of the variation of names, use of pet names, and abbreviated versions of the names used across the book series. Note: The establishment of the primary fictional name to use is still a work-in-progress. Refer to https://dunnettcentral.org/wiki/index.php/Main_Page#Fictional_Character_Pages for a future list. For now, if not noted on that wiki site, use the fictional name as listed in the “Fictional Character Notes”. * In this example from WG151 Robin Stewart three central fictional characters have square brackets indicating their significance to the story--Francis Crawford of Lymond, Oonagh O'Dwyer and Phelim O'LiamRoe--and these characters will have a Dunnett wiki page created for them. The fictional character of Piedar Dooley is not a central figure and will not have a Dunnett wiki page. * Use the primary fictional name, such as Francis Crawford of Lymond. Follow this format which can be seen under the Edit function. ==Fictional Characters== * Francis Crawford of Lymond - Master of Culter, Comte de Sevigny * Piedar Dooley * Oonagh O'Dwyer * Phelim O'LiamRoe - Prince of Barrow and Feudal Lord of the Slieve Bloom ===Illustrations=== * All illustrations should be indexed with attribution given. The most current WG issues will have complete information, and it should be copied. Older article illustrations may have limited information, but attribute as given. Photo credits should also be listed. From WG151: * 'St Simeon Stylites', Williams Burges, 1861. Copyright V&A, London. * 'La croix miraculeuse': Constantine sees the Chi Rho appear in the sky. Jean Baptiste Lienard after Peter Paul Rubens. c.1808. Copyright The Trustees of the British Museum. From WG127: * Cloudscape over the Royal Mile. Photo credits: Anne Buchanan. ===Literature=== * Use this section to list literature works cited within the article. From WG121: * Sayers, Dorothy, The Unpleasantness at the Bellona Club, 1921 ===Locations=== * This section should list and bracket all the locations described in the article. Other than citing the location, no other information is required. The example below is from Lymond, Robin Stewart and 'That' Death Scene WG151: ==Locations== * Chateaubriand, France * Paris * London * Douay, France * Blois ===Bibliography=== This section is used to list the sources cited in the article, either as a footnote or end listing. If the bibliography is lengthy, the indexer may reference in the Abstract that the article contains numerous sources. if reasonable, the sources may be listed and below is an example from WG150. ==Bibliography== * 'The Oxford Handbook of Medieval Christianity', John H. Arnold, ed. Oxford University Press, 2107. Pt 1, WG150; Pt 2, WG151; Pt 3, WG152; Pt 4, WG153: Pt 5, WG154; Pt 6, WG155 * 'The Pre-Conquest Church in England', Margaret Deanesly. A and C Black, Ltd, 1961. Pt 1, WG150; Pt2, WG151; Pt 5, WG154 * 'Medieval Monasticism: Forms of Religious Life in Western Europe in the Middle Ages', 3rd ed. C.H. Lawrence, Longman, 2001.
